The Easter holidays are a magical time for children – a chance to swap school routines for adventure, creativity, and plenty of fun. As spring begins to bloom, there are so many exciting ways to keep little ones smiling, from outdoor treasure hunts and hands-on craft sessions to storytelling, and special seasonal events. Whether you’re looking for high-energy activities or calmer moments to spark imagination, this guide brings together a mix of ideas including some egg-citing plans from us to help make the break unforgettable for all the family.
Let’s start with the day out that absolutely has to be on your Easter list. If you haven’t visited Hatton Adventure World yet, this is your year and if you’re a regular, you already know that spring is the very best time to come.
Get ready for a jam-packed day of springtime fun, bursting with adorable baby animals, live shows and family adventures at every turn. There is genuinely something fun for every member of the family here, whether you’ve got toddlers who want to stroke a lamb or teenagers who’d rather obliterate each other at Laser Combat (spoiler: both are very well catered for).
Easter at Hatton Adventure World means babies and lots of them. The farm will be filled with piglets, lambs, calves and goat kids, all waiting to meet you inside the Spring Arrivals Marquee. Our knowledgeable team host fascinating animal talks throughout the day, and on the very luckiest of visits, you might find yourself witnessing a birth. It’s the kind of unrepeatable, genuinely moving experience that no screen can replicate..
The Spring Arrivals are just the beginning. Farmyard Favourites lets the whole family meet the resident farm animals up close, Guinea Pig Village offers hands-on handling sessions that are a perennial favourite with younger visitors, and Scales & Tails is a brilliantly unexpected treat, a chance to get face-to-face with some of the world’s most fascinating reptiles.
Hatton Adventure World puts on a spectacular programme of live entertainment across the Easter holidays:
Tip: Check the daily show timetable online or look out for the signposts around for the park and build your day around the performances. Arrive a few minutes early for the best views.
Hatton Adventure World has the full range covered when it comes to activities:
For the whole family: The ever-popular Tractor Safari is back, rolling through the farm and offering a brilliant new perspective on life at Hatton. An absolute must-do.
For the thrill-seekers: Laser Combat returns this Easter and it is every bit as competitive as you’d expect. Great for older kids and parents who think they’ve still got it.
For the little ones: Superslide Mania Soft Play is the perfect energy-burner for younger children, and crucially, it’s indoors – so the weather is completely irrelevant.
For everyone: Easter Egg Hunts, Funfair Rides, the much-loved Bouncy Castles and creative Arts & Crafts sessions round out what is, by any measure, a genuinely extraordinary day out.
Tip: Book your tickets online before you arrive. Pre-booking typically saves money on the gate price. Easter is Hatton’s busiest season and selling out is a real possibility. It takes two minutes and saves a lot of disappointment.

No Easter in Warwickshire is complete without a visit to one of England’s most awe-inspiring landmarks. Warwick Castle has been standing on the banks of the River Avon for over a thousand years, and it still has the power to stop you in your tracks.
During the Easter holidays, the castle comes alive with seasonal events, live jousting displays, and interactive experiences that bring medieval history to life for all ages. Explore the ramparts for sweeping views across the county, wander through the state rooms, and let the kids run riot in the grounds.
It’s history, but not as they teach it in school, this is the loud, colourful, sword-swinging version, and children absolutely love it.
Tip: Allow a full day, there is plenty to see. Arrive early as parking gets busy.
Just a short drive from Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon is one of those places that never quite loses its magic, no matter how many times you visit. In spring, with the blossom out and the river sparkling, it’s particularly lovely.
For the culture lovers: The Royal Shakespeare Company puts on world-class theatre throughout Easter, check the programme in advance as shows book up well ahead of time. Even if theatre isn’t top of the family agenda, a walk past the RSC building and along the riverside is worth the trip alone.
For the history fans: Shakespeare’s Birthplace on Henley Street is a brilliantly immersive experience, and the wider Shakespeare family houses dotted around the town make for a fascinating self-guided trail. The staff bring the story to life in a way that genuinely engages children as well as adults.
For everyone: The town centre is full of independent shops, lovely cafés and restaurants, and the gentle pace of a riverside walk makes for a perfect contrast to a busy theme park day. Pick up an ice cream, find a bench by the Avon and watch the swans go by. Sometimes the simplest things are the best.
Tip: Easter is busy in Stratford, particularly on weekends. For a quieter visit, aim for a weekday morning.
After a few days of packed-out attractions, there’s real value in a slower day and Warwickshire has some genuinely beautiful countryside to explore on foot.
Hatton Locks, Grand Union Canal One of the most spectacular stretches of the British canal network, with 21 locks rising dramatically through the Warwickshire countryside. It’s a flat, easy walk that’s equally enjoyable for pushchairs and grandparents. Pack a picnic and make an afternoon of it or visit the great Hatton Arms en route.
Ufton Fields Nature Reserve A hidden gem just outside Leamington Spa. Former limestone quarries have been transformed into a remarkable mosaic of grassland, scrub and ponds, teeming with early spring wildlife. Fantastic for children who love looking for minibeasts, pond dipping and spotting birds.
The Greenway, Stratford-upon-Avon A traffic-free trail running alongside the old railway line between Stratford and Long Marston. Flat and wide, it’s perfect for cycling or walking with the whole family, and the wildflowers along the route in spring are genuinely beautiful.
Tip: April weather in Warwickshire is famously changeable. Always pack waterproofs and an extra layer, even if the morning looks glorious. Sturdy shoes make every walk considerably more enjoyable.
A big day out calls for good food, and Warwickshire has plenty of brilliant spots to refuel.
At Hatton: Take full advantage of the on-site catering to keep energy levels topped up throughout the day. With so much to pack in, having food on-site means more time for fun and less time driving around looking for lunch. Alternatively, stop by the Hatton Arms, a warm, atmospheric pub with great food.
“We were on a long journey and we wanted to stop halfway for sunday lunch. We found this pub through Google Maps. We had a good quality sunday lunch in attractive and warm surroundings. What impressed us most was the quality of service. The pub was busy but we were quickly found a table and the service was very timely and friendly. All the serving staff were working well as a team.
The surroundings were attractive with good views across countryside and a canal from the back of the pub.”
In Warwick town: The town centre has a great mix of independent cafés and restaurants. The Tilted Wig on Market Place is a popular spot for lunch, and the cobbled streets around the market square are perfect for a casual wander with coffee in hand.
In Stratford: The Dirty Duck (officially the Black Swan) on Waterside is one of the most famous pubs in England and a lovely spot for a riverside lunch. For families after something more casual, the High Street has plenty of options to suit all tastes and budgets.
Let’s be honest: Warwickshire in April is rarely predictable. Some years you’ll get wall-to-wall sunshine and temperatures that feel almost Mediterranean. Other years, you’ll need the waterproofs every single day. The key is to plan for both.
At Hatton Adventure World, this is something you genuinely don’t need to worry about and we mean that. Our Rainy Day Guarantee means that if the heavens open, the fun carries right on. With a full range of indoor and outdoor activities under one roof, a grey sky is never a reason to cancel, rebook or spend the day watching it rain from the kitchen window. The Spring Arrivals Marquee, Superslide Mania Soft Play, Scales & Tails and our live shows all keep the adventure going on even the wettest of April days while the farm grounds, Tractor Safari and Easter Egg Hunts feel even more special when the sun decides to show up.
For outdoor days such as; walks, Stratford, Warwick Castle build in flexibility and always pack layers.
Easter in Warwickshire is genuinely special. This is a county with history in its bones, beauty in its countryside and, at Hatton Adventure World, one of the finest family days out in the whole of the Midlands. Whether you’re filling every single day with big adventures or mixing in a few quieter moments, you’ve got everything you need right here.
Book your visit to Hatton Adventure World now and get ready for an Easter your family will never forget.
