Hatton, Warwickshire, Hatton Country World played a heart warming role in this year’s Palm Sunday celebrations, as their beloved donkeys joined a special service at Hatton Church.
The service, which marked the beginning of Holy Week, was attended by Bishop Sophie, Bishop of Coventry as well as the local vicar Ann Peachey and really brought the biblical story of Palm Sunday to life.
Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem, traditionally symbolised by a donkey, making Hatton Country World’s contribution especially meaningful .
GK Chesterton’s famous poem , “The Donkey” , beautifully reflects the humble but powerful symbolism:
“Fools! For I also had my hour;
One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
And palms before my feet.”
Hatton Country World is proud to support local community events and traditions,

As Hatton Church moves into Holy Week, both organisations extend their warmest wishes to the community for a peaceful and joyful Easter.
